Our Wines Come From Our Vines, It’s All About
Terroir
Our wines are
now available for purchase online by case (12
bottles) only. (Taxes and bottle deposits included
in prices. Delivery is $20 for the first case, $10
for each additional case.)
Our Summa Quies Vineyard was first planted in
2004. From that small start we have
continually expanded to over 15,000 vines at
present.
The Summa Quies Vineyard has 8 varieties: Pinot
Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet
Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc and
Semillon.
The first vintage was 2006. In three short
years the Summa Quies vineyard has produced a Lt.
Governor award winning wine, multiple Silver and
Bronze medal wines, two Gold Medal wines and the
first ever Pinot Noir to be crowned Red Wine of the
Year 2010 by Wine Access Magazine.
We hope you enjoy our wines.
Cheers
Luke
2009 Summa Quies Estate Sin Cera, 300 Cases Produced, $31/bottle
The 2009 Sin
Cera, our 4th vintage from the still young Summa Quies vineyard, is a blend of
Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. With
16 months of barrel aging in premium new, 2nd and 3rd
fill French oak. The wine is: 29% Merlot, 37% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon.
John Schriener: 90-93. Points
A tank sample of Sin Cera 2009 - the wine will be released
perhaps this fall for just over $30 – is already
impressive and shows great potential to develop in the
bottle. It is a chewy, concentrated red with flavours of
plums, olives, figs and with long ripe tannins.
Winescores.ca: 92 points
Copious floral notes...violets, lilacs, purple fruit and
vanilla, smoky spices and savoury undertones...very
concentrated...abundant fruit layered with spice, dark
chocolate and espresso and finishes with fine, ripe
tannins.
Bravo!
